he needs more money.. gets paid less than Philips which is laughable

I think we saw the benefit of interchanging of players last evening.. with Gakpo/Diaz and Jones.. so easy to defend when your playing side to side in front of a teams back line.,.but when your players are moving around and play balls down the side.to the movement. so difficult to defend against..
We don't need to dominate teams for 90+minutes just 20/30 minutes in short periods of matches . high intensity with some great movement in the final 3rd and take the chances we create. Rest of the games just dont over commit.

Its been interesting reading some of the previous posts on here… given how well he has started this season and the amount of goals he has scored and assisted, has anybody changed their previous opinion on him now he seems fully fit.

I always thought the Mané comparison was totally unfair given how brilliant and World class Mané was, and also how instrumental Firmino was in Mané’s effectiveness… playing with Nunez and Jota is a completely different ask, I imagine Diaz like Mané, would have just loved to play off Firmino …

The comments are just being realistic. Last season he just did not produce enough end product. This season, so far he has. But let’s not pretend he did enough last season because he didn’t.

If he carries on producing all season and not just in patches then yeah, I will admit he’s good enough for a regular start.

I get that, and I agree to an extent, it frustrates me too when players clearly play well below their abilities and Diaz was clearly guilty of that last season.

However, correct me if I am wrong, but last season wasn’t he returning from injury and then had a recurrence of the injury and then his Dad was kidnapped which is a tough gig to deal with and tbf whilst he was guilty as charged, he was not alone in not producing enough end product, especially towards the end of the season..

Yep he had a tough time of it last season with various issues and his father didn’t help his cause by collating on about his Son going to Barcelona.

He needs a good pretty much uninterrupted season, or we have to move on, it’s a results business.

Same for Nunez, he needs to contribute much more this season than last or he’ll be looking for another club in the summer

I’d like to see him more in the 9 role he played v Leverkusen he was much better there in that game than I’ve seen him

Still a lot more to come & needed, more consistency better decision making

Luis Diaz is cooking and he knows it, we have a couple of lads with their tails up and really in a good moment (Diaz, Gakpo, Grav and Jones). I would even throw in Ibou amongst the players who have really gone up in notches.

But of all I would say Diaz I have been very very impressed this season, he is showing belief/confidence, arrogance, skill and now end product.

We have a interesting season ahead if our players stay fit
