Klopp was not alone in his praise.
TIA
Thiago – 8 – Man of the Match
Liverpool’s best footballer was close to the top of his game, especially in the first half, making things happen in attack and putting a foot in when needed in defence.
His no-look pass to Jones early on was particularly jaw-dropping.
Apart from one moment in the second have where he decided to take on numerous Watford players before losing the ball, he was the best player on the pitch.
ECHO
Liverpool player ratings as Thiago Alcantara sensational but two others struggle against Watford.
Thiago Alcantara 8
Wowed the crowd with one no-look pass for Jones, close with volley from range and passing pulled Watford all over the place. Excellent. Subbed.
TAW
Thiago: 8
Cool as fuck. While everyone else was slashing about in the paint looking for a Stone Roses EP cover to emerge, Thiago was bringing the brush strokes that take the breath away. A touch of class.
90MIN
Thiago (CM) - 8/10 - Technically excellent, dictating tempo from deep and playing a number of fizzing, accurate passes. Top drawer performer.
Lol, those comments are hilarious, he wasn't involved in a single meaningful attack, he slowed the game down too much as ever, he DID NOT make a single forward pass that was contributory to a continuing attack that almost bore fruit
It seems there are lots of wankers who also like to get the tissues out for how sexy (to them) some of what he does looks who get distracted from even the couple of world class passes he made not actually contributing to affecting the game or to the potential for our lads to score a goal
That's his main issue, the pass he made that was most likely to create something was the backwards pass Robbo had to quickly react to get to their player to stop Watford equalising, that was the fucking nearest he came the entire game to actually creating anything
Wank away if you must, I'm interested in passing that compliments the rest of our players and actually delivers goals and assists or releases players to assist, something Thiago does absolutely NONE of

My argument isn't about the 3 in discussion steveo/19 for the best 11,
It's that we'd be better off with Bobby or Diaz starting over one of those 3, in our best 11.
Leaving the bench stacked and squad better set to rotate in and out.

Everytime we play or switch to a definite 2 in a 4231 the opposition start to easily release players in the spaces either side of our 2, we nullify our own full backs and the opposition quickly start creating chances
the lopsided 433 when 2 sit and one is sometimes part of a clear 3 as a No8 and sometimes more of a 10 works far FAR better, our players are used to it, the lopsided nature of it actually helps our movement and creativity and our pressing and counter pressing
4231 remains a shit idea, there's a reason none of the top clubs play that system, it's flawed, it was popular and prevalent in the noughties, the game has moved on considerably since, leave it in the noughties, 433 and 343 are infinitely better systems, which is why the top club all employ them

Bayern play 433 and 4231 very successfully and that's it, but they have Lewandowski, when Chelsea played it successfully they had Drogba, when whiskey face flirted with it he had Van Nistlerooy and later Ronaldo, 433 and 343 are far better systems for the modern pressing and counter pressing game, to even revert to 4231 for some games there is one crucial element you need that we don't have, a top TOP class No9 in the Lewandowski, Drogba mould

Liverpool’s Thiago: The Most Valuable Midfielder In The League?
BY HARRY MILLER
Thiago Alcântara is a lot of things; the best passer in the league, the best Spaniard in the league but is he the most valuable midfielder in the league? I think he is.
Thiago is one of the most decorated players this side of the Mississippi River and his tally of silverware will only go up if he continues his form.
Just like Francisco Goya was vital to ushering in the modern romanticism movement of the early 19th century,
Thiago Alcântara is crucial to the conversion of Liverpool’s midfield from the workhouse heavy three to a trio that flourishes in creativity.
Alcântara has completely transformed the Reds which is evident when looking at his last seventeen starts for Liverpool.
In this run, Thiago’s team are unbeaten with a record of 15 wins and only two draws. These two draws were consecutive 1-1 results against Leeds and Newcastle; both matches had Liverpool winning 1-0 and did not concede the equaliser until Thiago was subbed off.
This, of course, is no coincidence; in fact, it’s quite the opposite as it is logical evidence of Thiago’s impact on the team’s performances. This should be no surprise as little T is one of the best midfielders to grace the game but what may be surprising is the defensive record from the same run of games.
In the 17 matches, Liverpool conceded four goals whilst keeping twelve clean sheets. When Thiago has started in the league this season, Liverpool have conceded one goal in six. In contrast, Liverpool have conceded 11 goals in nine games when Thiago didn’t start.
I don’t remember the 2 consecutive draws this dude is on about though. Does make you wonder who these folks are at SI.
I get it now - he is including games from last season.
