There's a reason why none of our midfielders put up high numbers in terms of goals and assists (and it's not because they're all shit before someone shouts it out ). Their function is to be pure energy in the middle and to allow the fullbacks to be the main source of creativity. We've been playing this way for nearly 5 years!

I remember having this 'argument' about this exact same thing a few years ago. It hasnt changed. I mean look at Gomez at the weekend, he's a centre half playing as wingback and still got a great assist! These aren't happy accidents!

I certainly didnt expect Thiago to come in and be putting up Kevin DeBruyne type numbers. And anyone who did hasn't been watching us very closely over the last 5 years.
I think people looked at his Bayern assists, not sure of the stats but he did create chances.
He hasn't done that at all at LFC, I dont think anyone expected De Bryne but more than 2. I expected him to play further forward in an attempt to break down the bus teams we sometimes struggle against. A plan B for when the original plan occasionally hits a brick wall if it makes sense.

I do like him, he's obviously a good player but I personally don't think he'd be missed that much if he goes, I'm not saying I want him to either. I'm happy to see him on the teamsheet. Us not losing games is not down to him alone being in the side though, he's part of a well oiled machine.

Anthony Taylor - from Wythneshaw - Ref for the match on Sunday.
Paul Tierney - from Salford - doing the VAR.

"Nothing to see here" though, right?

    WTF?

And just how… HOW the feck is this allowed?

Both key officials from greater Manchester.

Hi Steveo good to see you back mate and hope all goes well in your personal life.

Klopp needs to do a Fergie here he wont but seeds need to be planted.

Only way to level it up is to get Nineteen and Robbie Fowler on all of Citys games this season !!

Oliver was a shoe in for ref but looks like the screw over is in place.

    Thanks Legs.

I agree. Someone has to mention this in the media. It is 100% a sham if these are the best officials they could find for what is likely to be the most important game of the entire season. Not that it should EVER happen for any competitive game, but still.

If you told someone from Barcelona or Madrid OR Milan or Turin that their big game against their rival was to be officiated both on and off the pitch by officials from their rivals' city, they would go absolutely berserk.

    and rightly so.

    We cannot accept this.

    Yeah it's infuriating.

    @Tactical_Times
Anthony Taylor officiates his 46th Liverpool game on Sunday. Ten more than any other club.

It's not even subtle what's going on.

But we are "tinfoil hat wearers" of course.
