Terribly managed Kev at times, I'd agree. But do u really want to go back to real-time (non) offsides and (non) penalty decisions given by refs and linesmen at OT? At least with VAR the public can see that the onfield and stockley park teams are fixing it even with benefit of slow mo and all the angles lol.

Was looking at the latest controversy about VAR......and we are actually on the good end of it.
Accordingly without VAR we would be in 11 th place BUT only on 23 points equal with Leeds.
Apparently 4 decisions went our way that wouldn't have without VAR

Well, I’ve always said it… haven’t I always said it? That Chelsea fans are a real classy bunch?

“Chelsea boss Graham Potter says he and his family have received anonymous death threats following the club's poor run of form.

The Blues have won just two of their past 14 games in all competitions and lost to Premier League strugglers Southampton on Saturday.

Chelsea say they are offering their full support to Potter and his family.

"I've had some not particularly nice emails come through, that want me to die," Potter said.

"That's obviously not pleasant to receive."

The former Brighton boss said the anonymous emails had also referenced threats against his children.

Under Potter, who was appointed in September following the sacking of Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea have won just nine of their 25 games.

"You could ask my family how life has been for me and for them. It's been not pleasant at all," Potter added.

"If you go to work and somebody's swearing abuse at you, it's not going to be pleasant.

"You can answer it two ways. I could say I don't care, but you know I'm lying. Everyone cares what people think, because we're hardwired to be socially connected."

    Yep completely appalling behaviour

Potter and Chelsea have a by no means identical but similar problem to ours

We lost our identity and successful working model through Jurgen'ls disastrous failed attempt at evolution and disregarding or fatally weakening elements of our game that were essential to our being successful - This is another status quo issue, getting caught up in believing your own hype aand that you can do no wrong having surrounded yourself with yes men without the testicular fortitude to tell you something's a shit idea as i would and still not having that voice is seeing Jurgen struggle to put us back on track

Potter's issue is he needs to simply put the players he has into a system of playing and play the same 11 in that system to build up relationships, understanding and automation over a number of games and stop persistently chopping and changing and making constant tweaks and changes throughout games

Jurgen and his staaff don't do nearly enough coaching or instruction to a player coming into an already functioning system

Potter gives way too much coaching and instruction to players he hasn't yet given a basic construct to and let them have a run of games to work a few things out themselves him trying to micro manage everything is killing them

    Because it is blindingly obvious

Origi was here for 6 or 7 seasons, used at LFWD several times, never understood how to play the Mane role, what the triggers were for him to make certain runs to give himself far better chances of scoring and to maintain the team automation and it functioning at it's highest levels

Robbo has consistently got into positions he should score or put one on a plate for one of our other players of take a playing the percentages shot just hitting the target with power in an area we have other players arriving since 18-19, he hasn't improved, it hasn't been addressed

Fabinho's positional issues, poor reading of the game, understanding of who is his man and if someone else does let our press be broken, understanding of when he has to stay with them until a defender has them so he can then go to the player with the ball is simply absolutely abysmal, has that been addressed? Absolutely not

There is so much more that could be done to get far more out of our existing players, none of it's been done, it's even a failure of coaching or imagination or both

That's a lot of speculation. How do you know it's down to Jurgen and his staaff not doing nearly enough coaching or instruction to a player coming into an already functioning system?

So Robbo can't be coached to hit a shot on target

Origi couldn't be coached to recognise the visual triggers of play buildinhg up in certain areas for when to make certain runs?

Thiago can't be coached to use his passing ability to better serve our forwards and full backs?

Fabinho can't be coached to understand the basics of midfield play?

Several can't be coached to appreciate pressing and counter pressing effectively is far more to do with taking excellent positions off your other players and the opposition players positions than running around like a headless chicken?

There are FAR too many things that needed to be addressed and should have been easily addressed by coaching and with the help of the video analysis team that never have been

I have to say, our tactics and game management have been very questionable at times.
