Why a increase in attendance? It's not as if it'll make a difference in spending power.
I'm more worried about what happens on the field, so I'll channel my concerns over that for the next few years !!

Yea - save the dosh. Knock the stands down and have video walls - 360 camera and no live fans. That way we can save tens of millions a season. Charge all the fans for a pay TV ticket - then we might be able to match the spending power of the elite clubs…

I am only joking Ian - and pretty sure I have misunderstood your meaning.

I am genuinely amazed though at just how many Liverpool fans have settled for so little. I guess that is part of why the city has lost so much down the years and the surrounding area in particular has gone to the dogs.

The city is actually in a better state than at any time in my lifetime. The huge investment, particularly in and around the Strand / Liver Building area has mad a massive difference to whole city. Tourism has massively increased over the last 20 years and while it suffers the same inner city issues as other larger UK cities, it is indeed, a city to be proud of.

However, before recent investment the people of Liverpool were so used to a complete lack of outside investment in the city, for over a century in fact, it is a low level expectancy for proper infrastructure investment than a low level acceptance per se.

Though you could perhaps say that the former breeds the latter.

All true. Actually in recent times house prices in parts of Liverpool have been rising at many times the rate of London. However they have been all but stagnant here.

The Waterfont is amazing - unique - no other city in the land has one to compare. Part of what pees me off the the BS have their new stadium right on the edge of it.

Be great to see some proper investment into L4. The place is long overdue.

Try asking that to the tens of thousands on the season ticket waiting list.
Not forgetting the thousands, me included, who can't even get on the waiting list.

The Season ticket list I'd imagine is Dominated by locals which let's be honest don't spend anywhere near what day trippers spend.

I ask because you seem to have the time to defend them at every turn - even when there is nothing to point to for the defence.

Every element of improvement has been paid for by the club - not the owners. The money is out of that which could have gone into the team. THIs is why we have such underwhelming improvements and also why we have to pay back the loans so fast. As anyone knows the bar was already so low. Why no attempt to look into ways to improve the other stands barely fit for purpose?

The answers are simple. They don’t want to spend a penny of their own on a franchise thousands of miles away.

So again - I am at a loss as to why anyone who isn’t from Liverpool or connected to the city - who has barely visited the place and who by their own admission hasn’t even seen all 4 sides of the ground would want to defend the lack of impetus and willing to make Anfield and the surrounding area befitting the most successful club in the land.
Yes, I don't live in Liverpool and have given my limited impression of the area.
I do listen to people from Liverpool and those were the top/first comments.
Maybe you could argue against each comment and them as a whole, if you feel they are inaccurate.
Maybe the club hasn't bought 60% of the houses they might need to acquire for the skds to be redeveloped.
Maybe you can rebutt the points/claims made in those comments.

I evaluate public utterances for myself, rather than relying on the honesty of thoroughly decent men like Klopp .
Ward no1, the club not signing Virgil as part of an apology, or Alisson etc etc etc
