We've had 2 league Cup finals, 1 fa Cup final, 3 champions league finals and 1 europa league final. We've actually won one of those in real time. We struggle to score goals in finals and break down teams. We don't concede in big games as much but is our style of play suitable for finals? 🤔

There's a lot being made of us not scoring goals in Finals of late, but Finals are the most difficult matches in Football, with the finest of margins often being what decides them. I think this stat of not having scored in one this season could be something we're fixating on more than needs to be, particularly given two of the Finals were against the same opponent.

Besides - we didn't exactly concede many in these Finals. Had we lost each won 3-0 it would be a much bigger issue.

I believe it’s a lack of the highest quality clinical finishing.

Put a Torres or a Suarez in there or a Gerrard in the middle and you would have seen more goals and wins in those finals.

For all our success - to date under Klopp only Coutinho, Sturridge, Origi and Mane have scored a goal for us in open play in 7 finals.

4 goals in 7 finals. It’s not great - especially when you consider the 2x extra times v Chelsea.

I am not counting Super Cups or Charity shields etc as these Imo are more exhibition games than true finals.

What you are trying to say that in crucial must win, winner takes all games, we don't score goals. But 3 in Fa Cup semi final against city, 4 nil against Barca, why are they different than the need to score in a final?
