    I agree.

The question/s really are about how "senior" a profile to bring in and "how many" - if we were limited to 2 incoming players (for example) then I would likely go for one more mid and a left centre-back or two more mids and take a calculated gamble on the centre-back issue and utilise "options" if needed - we haven't had a run of 5 games with Tsimikas at LCB for example and whilst it isn't wholly desirable on paper, I am always a "work with what you have first" thinker - much of which likely stems from my hatred of waste.

If we are limited to 2 incoming players while losing both Fabinho and Henderson then we are in trouble.

I agree, we need a CB definitely. That would have been on my list anyway.
But losing both Fab And Hendo which I doubt was planned means we need to change tact as well. We will have lost 5 midfielders if both go and brought in 2. So at least 1 more is a must. If we really want to challenge i think 2 very good mid 20s are needed.

Taking risks and using what we have is what we did last year. It didn't work out well though.

I don't think kids who are nowhere near ready for first team football should be playing first team football, except used sparingly from the bench, if they are ready as Gerrard, Macca, Fowler, Owen, Sterling and Trent were i have no issue with it, but neither Bajcetic or Elliott are anywhere near that level yet, they should not be being used to be a filler in place of a senior experienced specialist in any position in the squad

Bajcetic does not have the physical or mental attributes of a DM, Elliott isn't a RCM
