To that end, the Liverpool Echo (citing a report in Spain) claims PSV Eindhoven’s Johan Bakayoko is in Liverpool’s sights.
Liverpool to do what Brentford couldn’t?
The Belgium international, 20, is left-footed and operates primarily in Salah’s position on the right wing. Bakayoko has scored just once for PSV this season, though has provided six assists.
Brentford lodged a club-record £34m bid for the winger over the summer. The Evening Standard stated PSV were holding out for £38.5m, though the player’s refusal to join the Bees torpedoed the move anyway.
Liverpool are interested in making German Max Eberl their sporting director. The 50-year-old, who is also wanted by Bayern Munich, recently left the same role at RB Leipzig. (Bild - in German)
Just get Andre in January.
Give him a couple of weeks off as he will have played a lot of football due to the Brazilian schedule.
Let Thiago depart at the end of the season.
Enter 24/25 season with every midfielder up to speed and all but Endo in their mid-20s or younger in the middle of the park.
Would mean the attack and the midfield would only need the occasional quality addition (including Salah's eventual replacement) and we can concentrate on future-proofing our defensive end of the field.
There's also Leroy Sane at Munich being linked with us. Isn't he the one Sadio gave a thick lip to last season ?
Yeah and the swine that scored the goal that hit both posts and went in against us when he played for Man-City
Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
Sane turns 28 in January, so if we buy him in the Summer window we're looking at having a few months of the lad before he turns 29 in January 2025.
That doesn't seem like a very "us" signing these days. Yes, there's the potential PR backlash if we spent a chunk of the Salah money on a "maybe" in the 22-26 age range rather than going for an established player, but it would still surprise me.
He has been doing well for Bayern. I don't foresee them selling for anything less than huge money.
