It was the usual click bait media bull shit, no way anyone sane could have construed what he said was indicating he was thinking of leaving.

Honestly, the media in this country are 95% absolute wankers making shit up with absolutely zero foundation whatsoever

Add in: the way that the government is running the country into the ground.
Suspicious activity from PGMOL and the FA.
Jizzfest and their 115 charges for financial irregularities.

I see Owen Beck has gone back to Dundee on loan. What an end to the window.

Anyone seen that Nat Phillips has gone on loan to Cardiff City?
Might get a few games just down the road from me.

Well, the main goal this season is an attempt at the Premier League title and by the late evening we will "only" have 16 games left in the League - 4 sets of 4 - within which to aim to play our very best XI and then rotate accordingly in the Cups.

We have the World's best goalie and a quality back-up.

We have three lads who can play left-back to a good level - Robertson, Tsimikas and Gomez - with two currently available and one due back soon.

We have three lads who can play right-back to a good level - Trent, Bradley and Gomez - all three are currently available.

We have four centre-backs who can play to a good level (excluding Matip here as he won't be available this season) that are all currently available - Van Dijk, Konate, Quansah and Gomez.

We have a number of lads who can play in midfield - Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Jones, Elliott, Szoboszlai are all available right now, with Endo due back relatively soon to ease the pressure and Thiago back in training - Gakpo can also perform a midfield role at a decent level if absolutely desperate. I haven't mentioned Bajcetic as the management of his rehab seems to be wrapped in a Pandora's Box within an invisibility cloak - but he may return before season's end to chip in if we are lucky.

We have five quality forwards, with 4 of them currently available and each of those 4 lads having scored in recent weeks in Jota, Núńez, Diaz and Gakpo - with Salah due back in a few weeks.

Then you combine all this with the ability we have to rotate appropriately via the 5 permitted substitutes, versus the 3 of the past, which helps to get key lads off before the last 20 minutes where injury chances increase.

Then you take into consideration the fact that the club have known that Klopp is leaving, so likely see little point in investing in a player during the January window that the next Manager may not even want, given that we don't know who it'll be.

With all of the above taken into account, I honestly don't see a huge reason to step into the market.

Me neither, nor was I expecting us to, for all sorts of reasons. Last comment was tongue in cheek, only just realised it was deadline day, nobody seems arsed, but I was hoping to see more of Beck this month. Glad Ramsay and Phillips got loans.

What it does show Sid is that most of us must be pretty happy with the squad. There haven't been many (if at all any) calls for the 'owners to dig deep', or 'we need this', or 'that', or 'look at what West Ham have spent' ect...

I think without the emergance of Quansah and Bradley it may have been adifferent story.

It may have been, absolutely - but ultimately they have emerged and presumably Klopp and co. had a fair idea of their talent, having witnessed them in training - and their mentality, having been around them at the Axa and so on.

I love looking at the (relative lack of) money for lads like Bradley, Quansah, Jones, Elliott - plus looking back at how little we spent on Gomez - plus reflecting on Trent breaking through when Clyne gets injured.

When you consider the absolute ridiculousness of "England tax" and what some of the sides around us spend on Home-grown players, it really makes you appreciate some of our willingness to trust the younger lads rather than always buy - it's a fine balancing act and we have probably got it wrong in a couple of windows, but had we bought ready-made in each of the above positions and seen some of the lads listed go on loan (and maybe not have a good time there) while we spent Ł30m+ per player on different lads, then we perhaps don't get to witness the joy of these lads coming through.

Hopefully there are more lads who can come through in the coming seasons - it will be considerably harder with a different Manager of course, but Klopp has laid out a squad that is brimming with potential - I think there will be a number of Managers out there witnessing the capabilities of this squad and wanting the chance to manage it.

It's a shame Klopp feels so burnt out as it would have been incredible to watch him guide this group of lads through their next 3-5 years.

Liverpool defender Billy Koumetio has joined Blackburn Rovers on loan until the end of the season, subject to international clearance.
