Went and checked....
The word is he left because FSG gave more power to Klopp.
If Edwards comes and hires Xabi I'm good with it. I still believe that Edwards alone isn't a messiah. Klopp certainly didn't hurt Edwards' track record...
wow how dare someone give the manager rights to sign the players he wants! if Edwards did leave for that reason, i don't want him back (just my opinion)

Michael Edwards: Same article reports that it would be a role above sporting director and that if he accepts he’d be responsible for appointing the new manager and also the new sporting director (likes that Hughes fella from Bournemouth)....
It's well known that Edwards and Klopp didn't always see eye to eye. Edwards wasn't afraid to say no to him apparently, they weren't friends.
Full control? Do any other clubs have this situation?
Worth noting that our most successful spell in terms of trophies was whilst he was at Anfield, that could be different by the end of this season hopefully. He's obviously very good at his job so personally I don't have too much issues with it.

Ornstein reporting that Edwards is close to rejoining in a senior role.
Hopefully Salah doesn't go in the summer. but if he does. I quite like the look of Palmer at Chelsea. They won't sell. but we will have enough money to offer them a lot.

Bet Klopp is giving some serious thought to putting a few of the legends names down from the Ajax game..
Any of them pre 50 could do some sort of a job.
