This is true - but you have to look at Joyce mentioning it within context.
The club have been very tight-lipped this Summer - we have been finding out about rejected deals etc a few weeks after they occur, versus the likes of the hour-to-hour running commentary that Man United transfer links typically have.
A couple of Tweets have gone out recently about us being in for a midfielder outside of the PL, from journos close to the club.
Joyce is unlikely to want to burn any bridges, so I would suspect he has received an all-clear on putting that Tweet out and in turn I would say a deal is very close.
Hence the excitement. Could I be wrong? So far off the mark that it's laughable? Of course I could - but we won't have to wait long to find out either way.
