Of course there are better players. For example Nineteenx thinks we should sign Nico Williams because he’s able to do it on football manager. The real world is a bit different.
We need players who we can afford, who will improve the squad, who will accept our wages and who will choose Liverpool over other cities.
Those players do exist but the list isn’t as long as you think.

There's something happening, whether it's a big signing this window or January I don't know. But I've a feeling something is happening.
As FSG are sports people they know you have to improve a squad.

Much as it would be very uncomfortable (and not at all the situation I would want) one wonders if money is beginning to be set aside in case none of Trent/Van Dijk/Salah extend - as addressing that scenario (if it came to pass) would require really big outlay.
