Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea and the teenager has now confirmed his departure from the Premier League side on social media
Youngster Rio Ngumoha has announced his departure from Chelsea, after Liverpool was granted Premier League approval for his transfer. The 16-year-old is poised to join the Reds' under-18 squad for the 2024-25 season.
Liverpool's recruitment team have had their eyes on the England youth international for quite some time, finally hammering out a deal in July that enables Ngumoha to swap Stamford Bridge for Anfield.
Ngumoha, who has been described as one of the best players in his age group in the country and has represented England at U16 level, signs as a scholar at Liverpool after a deal was concluded.
Chelsea, having not been able to secure Ngumoha with a scholarship deal, is now set to receive a compensation fee from the Merseyside outfit for the striker. Liverpool plans to integrate him into Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's Under-18s group for the upcoming term, with an eye towards assessing his readiness to step up to the Under-21 level. Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move has now been completed on social media.

Good stuff.
Planning for the long-term is great, really is.
If we can sort out the short-mid term issues as well, we are laughing. They don't need to all be addressed at once, but we shouldn't dilly-dally either. Some need sorted in a few months, others a couple of years, but all will need looked at -
- Contracts for Trent/VvD/Salah
- Successor for Virgil
- Successor for Salah
- Contracts for Konate/Robertson
- A top midfielder to join the current roster
- Eventual Endo upgrade
- Eventual successor at left-back

Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
Excellent if true, though I imagine he will have plenty of suitors
The Reds would be hoping that they won’t have to face a similar scenario this season but with Robertson already entering his 30s and his current contract set to expire in less than two years, it might be the right time to start thinking about the long-term future and sign a potential replacement for him.
On HITC, Graeme Bailey has reported that Liverpool have registered their interest in signing Bayern Munich star, Alphonso Davies, and they could make an offer soon.
The 23-year-old has entered the final year of his current contract and would leave Allianz Arena as a free agent should he not sign an extension with the Bavarian club over the coming months.
As reported by Diario AS, Real Madrid have a pact in place with Davies, which will see him sign on the 1st of July 2025, when his Bayern contracts comes to its end. It’s a similar agreement to the one that they had with Kylian Mbappe, whose arrival from Paris Saint-Germain became official at the start of this month.

Only a rumour, I suspect it will happen next summer.
Apparently VVD wants to sign a new contract which will keep him at the club for at least the next two years.
