I noticed what you were saying, which is why I responded the way I did. Very few have come as close to greatness as last season’s squad, which is why a revisionist take on their merits based on fears about midfield recruitment is so miserly.

Constructing pseudo-wise arguments about how we were almost shite in retrospect is also contemptible in my opinion. The boys were magnificent last season. We are fortunate to have been taken along for the ride.

Totally - but no way anyone could say we were almost shite though is there. We may have lost both shoot outs v Chelsea - but we would have still performed extremely well.

Is Laimer now into the last year of his contract?

Would be really good if we could get an agreement with him/his agent to join us next Summer on a free - he'd still be only 26 and would hopefully be joining Bellingham.

Bennacer at AC Milan is stalling on a contract extension - his deal would end at the end of the 23/24 season so 2 years left essentially - another we could potentially look at, be it next Summer or perhaps January.
