What is the explanation for our dramatic loss of form…

Is it just one thing in isolation, ie our profligacy in front of goal, or is it a combination of several unconnected incidences that have seemingly resulted in the dramatic loss of form..?

Personally i think it’s the latter, that has contributed to the former, but there is an element of which came first, the chicken or the egg.

Losing Robbo and Trent, our most successful supply line to the forward line, for an extended period is problematic, but not entirely fatal, as our midfield has overall stepped up in that regards.

Losing our two most clinical finishers to injury, International competitions, and then to loss of form in both Jota and Salah is also problematic, but again not entirely fatal as we have had other capable options available.

Conceding the first goal in so many games home and away is just so poor, but also conceding so many poor goals is equally baffling and exhausting in equal measure., unfortunately we did it once too often against both Atalanta and Palace.

Costly individual mistakes, in the biggest game of the season namely Virg & Alison against Arsenal, and especially in both games against Utd that we should have won comfortably, namely Nunez and Elliots mistake in the FA Cup and Quansah in the League, have undoubtedly contributed to the current loss of belief within the squad.

Costly mistakes by the officials in the biggest of games against at the beginning of the season against Spurs, and Chelsea and more recently at home against Arsenal and Man City have also undoubtedly taken their toll in both morale and more significantly, points.

The additional loss to injury of Curtis Jones, DS and to a lesser degree Gravenberch has also played a significant part in the overall drop off in performance.

The recent loss of confidence of Nunez, Gakpo, Salah and Dom has also certainly not helped.

Last, but not least of all, maybe all their efforts to deliver on their promise to give Klopp the perfect send off has just caught up with them all, and just drained them emotionally.

I wish I knew what the actual answer was, but hopefully tonight we can break out of this awful malaise we find ourselves in, and go on to pull a rabbit out of the hat, get ourselves a legendary result and give the whole club a massive lift in the process.

So C’mon lads you know you can do this….

Because if any club can, it’s Liverpool FC….

    YNWA…

Don't think a huge amount needs to change, it's a few small things

    - Don't concede first ("turn up" at start of games)
    - Control possession more to assist the defence
    - Ensure we have overloads in attack
    - Get back to having four in midfield for protection when out of possession (whether that's a full-back tucking in or a forward dropping deeper)
    - Better finishing
