Think he’ll be moved on in the Summer, probably on loan.

Not learning is he?? he went for a shot in the Newcastle box and he was central. the ball went wide.. Salah nearly got onto it.
everything has to be bashed towards goal. no finesse what soever

It's funny when you look at XG & Goals

    PL
Jota, Núñez, Diaz & Gakpo 11.79 Xg & 11 goals
    2,532 minutes

    Salah 11.11 XG & 13 goals.
    1,230 minutes

They're all under more pressure and get less minutes, and get less XG per minute.

That pattern hasnt repeated in the CL tbh.
The 4 have outperformed him there.

Jota, Núñez, Diaz & Gakpo 7.73 Xg & 6 goals
    911 minutes

    Salah 2.13 XG & 1 goal.
    423 minutes

The trouble is that if he's moved on he won't be replaced with anything other than a 'bargain bin' signing. That's going to be even more likely given we're liable to take a big hit when it comes to how much we paid for him and how much we will recoup.

Marmoush looks like a very promising replacement for Nunez

Someone will still defend him, and next time he scores go on about how good he is, and "I was right"

We need a new #9 jota is injured half the season, it's a joke.

We just need Sid to tell us that if we'd only squint and look at a few stats a certain way, Nunez actually bears a close resemblance to Robbie Fowler

    very good.

The swipe tonight was just.....shocking. No thought of just caressing it into the corner or stabbing it, it's just a lash at it. The one where he fails to connect (Gakpo header down towards the post) I don't think he can do much about - just doesn't get there - but the swipe is a wretched attempt.

A shame the way it's going for him at the moment as I firmly believe the c-a-p-a-c-i-t-y to be an excellent striker is all sitting there from a physical perspective - isn't injury-prone, hold-up play improving, super quick, good runs off the ball, excellent work ethic - there's just so much to like.

Composure though.....does let himself down a lot. One thing that gives me enormous encouragement with that is I fully believe it's a coachable thing - AC Milan had (perhaps still have?) a room with screens and earphones where players are made to watch chances they missed over and over with a view to developing a calmness they can translate to match day - and Dortmund have the "Footbonaut" room to make finishing more of an automated reaction.

Still - a dreadful lash at the ball tonight. I won't stop rating the guy due to how many tools he has in the locker, but will happily concede that the coolness isn't there.

Would love him to have sessions with someone like Fowler, or to take on board Thierry Henry's advice about just nailing 2 or 3 muscle-memory finishes to have in the locker.
