Goal or assist every 115 minutes this season thus far.
Sid - fair play for looking at the positives with Nunez. But last night was worrying. Not the fact he didn't score, but he didn't even hit the target with any of those attempts.
The 3rd one he had all the time and still missed the target.
He has shown promise though, so all is not lost with him. I still think back to suarez 1st season with us and the chances wouldn't go in for him. Hopefully a year adjustment for nunez, some good work on improving his faults and next season he takes off.
Glad you're keeping some Faith. So early for us in his career - a career only a few months old, interrupted by a World Cup and a suspension (of his own making, granted) while he adjusts to a new League and new language amidst a changing team with injuries, fatigue and reduced confidence. Not worried.
I'll tell you what would worry me.
If he wasn't getting the chances to begin with.
He finds himself in the position to get three good opportunities against one of Europe's best sides after a break from playing with his team and does the overwhelming majority of the work for Salah's goal.
Least of our problems. How often we gave the ball away last night was a much bigger issue.
Regarding Andy Carroll comparison
It is my recollection that he was coming good but coincidentally he was not getting starts by Kenny
Ah, Andy.
11 goals that lad scored for us. Total. All comps.
A very important one against Everton to be fair to him.
Just on the subject of comparisons, I wish people (the media, Twitterati, not here) would stop comparing Núñez and Haaland.
Haaland is a terrifyingly consistent finisher. Not sure he does an awful lot else mind - occupies centre-backs I suppose - and to be fair I don't watch that lot as I see little point.
Núñez on the other hand is definitely going to have good games that he won't score in. Also good games that he WILL score in.
Once Nat Philips came on Haaland didn't get a sniff, and was subbed.
