Only reason Philips is playing is because Matip is injured and Klopp promised Philips a start if he remains at the club..

Also, because Gomez is still a bit of an injury concern having only gotten back from a prolonged injury himself and the physios not having confidence in him lasting the full 90.

Otherwise I'd have to imagine if it was a fully fit Gomez it would be him partnering Virg at the back.

Half-time and but for the Palace goal and 3-4 minutes of nerves, we've played a lot better than the Fulham match which is a start at least.

We often perform better in the second half - hopefully that's the case here.

Need to ensure we don't concede again and ideally score before the 65th or so with a view to pushing hard for the second.
