Does it make me a bad person if i'm not overly bothered? I Won't share my opinion on here incase I offend a certain someone for having a different opinion.

Times have changed, they should stop the monachry now in tribute.

Everyone dies, she was 96 noone can live forever, i personally can't feel much for someone i've never interacted with, whoever that may be, queen was just another lady who was famous to me, I don't buy into the whole "royalty" stuff.

My attitude is that Queen Elizabeth 2nd has possibly been good for the UK. The monarchy attracts tourism, and money, to the UK. The monarch might also be good for international trade - they travel all over the world and meet with other countries' business people.
You might think I'm a royalist. I'm not, I believe in Bill Shankly's socialism.
The dearly departed Queen was, in my opinion, good for the UK. As for the new batch, they have a hell of a lot to live up to. I'm not sure they are capable of doing any good. Only time will tell, but they are imho in a mess.

Sad or scary, these are just different reactions to a sense of loss depending on whether you look back at what was or look forward into the uncertain times we face. A third reaction could be to detach and just not care as a coping mechanism.

For me, I didn't feel sad but this news added to a sense of uncertainty. Not because I'm a royalist (I'm not) but because we are living in unstable times and this country is going through a lot of changes. Some people love change and say bring it on, sometimes I'm like that too but right now, not so much. But don't worry, I'll be okay.

I have been amazed by the performance and organisation of all including the general public and police and armed firces let alone the senior dignitaries who have taken part in so many events over the past few days nationwide. These circumstances have not been able to have had any public practice and probably very little private practice on any major scale.
And all televised too!
Something that the UK seems to excel in!

I remember vaguely Churchill's state funeral but the Queen's funeral will undoubtedly surpass even that grandeur!

My thinking is that King Charles has conducted himself most admirably.
He has had no chance to mourn the death of his mother.
For myself, and probably many others, it is something we never quite get over.

Tuesday the Queen accepted Boris's resignation as pm and invited Liz Truss to be the new pm with a great smile.
Thursday she died.
Amazing secret planning , if any, for the public ritual spectacles (and speeches) I am beholding !
