Yep. Lets just play with a fierce intensity from start to finish.

Anyway, Pep usually finds a way to overcomplicate things!

I'm so fascinated by the dilemna. A big issue with the 4-3-3 was the extent to which sides were attacking the space behind Trent - but Trent isn't going to feature.

We'll play a 4/3/3 and City will play a 4/4/5. Taylor and England (the latter gets picked again against us) that stinks of Howard Webb taking the piss. another cheating cunt.

I'd go 442/4411, sitting deeper and looking to counter, as pep did v us when we were in better form.

    Alisson
    Gomez Konate VVD Robbo
    Salah Fab Thiago Jota
    Nunez Firmino

Hendo as a sub tends to be a little more impactful off the bench imo, hard call as to which of the 3 mids to drop to the bench.

I think the key will be bypassing the midfield asap and getting the ball early to the forwards..who need to play well.
They have always struggled with pace skill strength (just like us) due to playing the high line and will hopefully be forced to foul at the cost of a card.

However city are far better than us as retaining the ball, and especially winning it back with professional fouls.
Watch the amount of times one player will bump salah/jota etc, and the 2nd will pounce on the lost control due to that.
This will never ever be a card. If the ref sees it as a foul, a freekick will be the best outcome while city get back in position.

This has been a pep trait since barca. Mourinho once pointed it out before a CL game. In fairness it requires a high workrate when defending and their players retaining possession as much as possible, which allows them the rest periods required to 'swarm press' again.

    Konate missed training...

So it's either Nathan Phillips in at CB or Gomez to CB and Milner at RB!

I'd personally but big Nat in. He kept Ibrahimovic quiet at the San Siro last year.

Hopefully nothing too serious with Konate and he starts on Sunday. We'll need him
