Anyone not rating Klopp needs looked at and anyone not seeing Núñez's enormous potential (which he needs to fulfil of course to be considered a "success") should watch him more closely.

That said, Ferguson was hardly mr personality either. At least not on camera.

Who? I mentioned the 7 year thing, but I was just mentioning it, not ever did I feel he was "past it" was just trying to work out why we're so shit (or was)

Only people who thought Nunez was andy carroll was other teams fans...

Was awful watching villa the style, fans don't turn that easily on managers

Yes the same player a few on here said we should buy/loan.

    He was/is a busted flush.

Like most managers now taking over teams like Villa/Everton they expect lots but reality is they are 8-10th place clubs at best now.

That was a fair bit of wedge to spend a minute into the hotseat for any manager...

Those same fans that expect so much tend to champion the likes of Man City - "anyone but Liverpool" - who have an iron grip on one of the oh-so-precious Champion's League spots they hope to grab one day.

He signed Digne Coutinho Carlos who did his ACL.

Dean Smith signed likes of Ings Bailey Bunedia.

He has spent probably net wise £40-50m which isnt loads in todays market.

Yep Newcastle/City two no marks have stole two places higher up the table now.

The likes of Villa not moan though as they are desperate for state owners themselves and cling to that hope.

Every manager they have will suffer the same fate they might do a Moyes/Rodgers have a good season 5-7th but without the dough its back down the table again.

He spent £25 million net this summer, the team were in the relegation zone 40 games ago when he took over.

Are you saying that the mistake is letting him spend the money inherited as they lost their best player?

    Really?

Doesn’t make sense to me if you are. Villa have been struggling since before Gerrard took over.

Precisely - on a team that was relegation fodder when he came in.

He didn’t do well - but they are pretty much where they were pre Gerrard, considering the money spent elsewhere in the league - which also impacted our own ability to compete at the top end .- he hasn’t been the disaster some make out,

Coutinho wasn’t that bad an attempt - it could have come off - it was a gamblen a player that has supreme ability but who has totally lost his way, Villa are in that bracket - they have to gamble. It isn’t possible for every club to moneyball or data analyse their way out of things.

So much in this sport is down to luck to some degree. Gerrard didn’t get much in that job,
