Has time on his side in terms of his development, particularly things like decision-making and positioning. At the age of 19 he's potentially 5-8 years from entering the peak of his powers, though we can't predict how good/bad he will become just yet.

He'll never have the raw pace for a wide forward in our set-up and I don't think he will become an undroppable lad that is picked week-on-week over multiple seasons, but I'd be quietly confident that he can become a strong depth option - and hopefully more of course.

While hes got time on his hands. he can play someplace else and learn there. we need winners NOW. not in the year dot. hes played numerous games so far.Very little if any assists and 1 goal

That's the thing though, We need him as there's no one else until we buy midfielders. Thiago, Hendo ,Milner and Fabinho are all the wrong side of 30 .

Fab is about 28 but I get your meaning. and yes, we have no one right now.. Its not Elliots fault I understand But its a bit much to think hes going to be the saviour. Hes not a midfielder in a 3.not from the start of games anyway.

Not meaning to be a pedant, but he has two goals (yes, more would be lovely) - he got the....second I think it was against Bournemouth and the.....seventh(?) against Rangers - with 27 League games left and who knows how many Domestic Cup and Champion's League games, he could end up scoring 5-7 goals in all comps this season - not to be sniffed at given how early he is in his career. Obvious caveat being that Bournemouth and Rangers were routs, but they all count.

Agree we need lads in - potential departures of Ox/Milner/Keita will free up spaces and with luck a replacement or two may hit the ground running.

    Thiago's 31.
    Hendo's 32.
    Milner is 36.
Fabinho, believe it or not, has his birthday today - he turned 29.

The "bridge" (in terms of age) players in Ox and Keita haven't gone as planned, which has proven to be the biggest issue.

Quality lads in the 22-26 age bracket would solve big problems. If all 3 of Keita/Ox/Milner leave then buying two good mids and giving the third spot to someone like Bajcetic (who Lijnders and Klopp see as a long-term Fabinho replacement if all goes well, according to a snippet from Pep's "Intensity" book) would do the trick. It's not as if we have to replace the MINUTES of three lads - Ox and Keita hardly feature!
