    True news

    Let's start it here,
    Redebreck requested it
What should we believe from our news sources?
    Who is telling the truth?
Please Do not post links or verbosity without first yourself justifying their credence .
    For example
For myself I trust sky news because I perceive their mission is to give some clarity in an uncertain world.

How does Sky News differ from say the BBC?

In my adult life TV news has changed from serious, unbiased and factual(?) to tabloid style entertainment.

And they use subtle and not-so-subtle methods to steer you into what to think about what they show.

I used to watch Channel 4 News more because it was different from BBC/ITV but it has gone the same way.

It is always more interesting to see what the news is NOT reporting, and not asking questions about.

True news, might just be an oxymoron

    True:
Consistent with fact or reality; not false or erroneous: synonym: real.
Not counterfeit; real or genuine: synonym: authentic.
Conforming to the characteristics or criteria of a group or type; typical

    News:
Information about recent events or happenings, especially as reported by means of newspapers, websites, radio, television, and other forms of media.
A presentation of such information, as in a newspaper or on a newscast.
    New information of any kind.

News by its nature is fresh, spun to match its target audience, and selectivity is a major issue.

Truth, requires laborious rigour, offends cohorts, and requires a consideration of totalities. Truth is elusive.

    How about un-biased news?
    much appreciated btw, thanks.
I've viewed quite a bit of stuff on the forum - e.g. covid-based stuff/vaccines, Russell Brand & others.
Be nice to see news that isn't "mainstream" and potentially "inaccurate".
There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief

A clear example of BBC bias in the last week.
Major news story around the Mone 29m she siphoned off the public purse via a dodgy ppe firm.
David Conn with stellar reporting has rumbled a major scam where millions have been pretty much stolen.
The BBC never ran it at all. It was massive and they never said a word. Somebody there has links to her or is protecting and its wrong. How could they not report that's? It's a huge story.

Novara media Double down news and Byline times are really good too.
People like Aaron Bastani, Marina Purkiss,Joleon Maughan, Jemma Forte and George Monbiot. All very good and impartial.
