A bit of a stretch, but I was luck enough to see him on the pitch at Anfield. OK, it was at half time against Utd (the one Stevie came on as sub and was sent off a minute later ) he walked on and gave everyone a wave.

Sad day.. been expecting it since the World Cup.. but a sad sad day regardless. What a player, one of the greatest for sure. Wonderful human being. The world will miss him.

My old fella (has Alzheimer’s) his face dropped when I told him. He remembers the great Pele. Saw him literally kicked (by crippling tackles) out of the tournament in ‘66 to make sure Brazil’s threat was diminished.

    Pele….a total one off..

    RIP King Pele.
Watched the documentary “Pele” a few weeks ago, very interesting about himself, the coup in Brazil and nice to see some of his team mates contributing. Watch it if you can.

    RIP Pele,
I too witnessed the tackles that took him out of the '66 World Cup (as Steveo too has commented on)
It was the only way they could stop him. This is a sad day for Football around the World.

A sore loss for the World of football.

His goal against Czechoslovakia needs more love - lovely take on the chest and then an outside of the boot shot akin to the one Di Canio is best known for.
