With the lack of Midfield cover I'd be tempted to try Trent in midfield with Gomez at right back just to see how it goes. It's a proper match so at least we would see it at a decent level and not a friendly.

We need to try something different.
Not sure how long Virgil is going to be out.
Please don't try Joe Gomez at centre-back.
There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief

If Van Dijk will be out for a bit then I'd protect Matip and Konate so I'll change this to Gomez in the middle and Ramsay on the right. It's tempting to play Matip and Konate together in this one to try and build a partnership but the focus has to be on the league now

I'd forgot all about Ramsay. Though he's probably injured.

This was them training yesterday. Not the happiest looking bunch in fairness, I hope Gakpo doesn’t catch the 40 yard stare - sour grapes look.

Picture of Trent at the end with Jurgen. Hopefully all that emotion gets put into a performance

A win would be a real boon right now. Get the confidence going again.

Here's hoping Elliott is rested for this, and try to find a competent midfield line-up for our league games going forward.

Hendo and Fabinho manage to look slow in that pic somehow.

Tricky one - if Elliott is rested here then he may feature against Brighton or Chelsea - I'd rather we find a midfield combo for the League that doesn't involve Harvey just now, with all respect to him.
