What they are doing is constantly adding quality. They just won the CL and La Liga last term - didn’t stop them wanting to improve. That never ends for the elite.
They got twice as much and more as we did for Mane in the same window. That's a great price for a 30 year old DM.

How long was left on casemiro contract.
Mane was sold, 1 year left.
    Bought for £34m / sold £30m
That was about as good as you can get, good business.
I very much doubt Mane at 33yo will sell for £120m+
Messi on a free was bad from Barcelona, but freed up huge wages , probably £1m a week.

We could go on and on about good and bad business, at each club around the world.
    Robinho £32m to city
    Veron £26m to united
Markovic, was in £20m or even 30 lol
    Shevchenko £50m to Chelsea
    Torres £50m to Chelsea
Andy Carroll £35m to lfc lol

Arsenal sit on 47 points after 18 games - we are 19 adrift.

Manu sit on 38 points after 18 games - we are 10 adrift

After 18 games Newcastle sat on 35 points in 4th place. Just one point off a traditional 4th place pace of 2 points per game.
    They're on 38 now.

We are on 28 points after 18 games. A mere 13 points better off than Bottom of the League Everton.

It is. But he was a CL and League winner that season. Also they found what was - at the time - a pretty desperate buyer (some echoes of the Coutinho sale granted). Doesn’t look quite such poor value now does he? If United make top, he has payed for himself in 9 months.

Let's hope that all the lads injured come back ASAP to start a revival.

    Diaz Jota Firmino Darwin VVD

    AND no new injuries

He's a great DM, it's still a greater transfer fee as I see it. Mane, Gini & Origi for 32 Mill in comparison.

Indeed, nobody could argue with the facts.. but Gini and Mané wanted out. We wouldn’t offer them what they wanted. Perhaps they both saw that the club just wasn’t being run like an elite club. Origi - god love him, finally went in search of game time.

Why did the other 2 want out?

Gini wanted a huge salary increase.
Not turned out great for him at psg.
    Huge flop for Paris.
    Can't remember actual quote.

Origi not had a smooth time of it in Italy, though, with injury striking and criticism as the “worst signing of the season” coming his way.

Far from the ideal start having seen his appearances only come off the bench in his first eight games prior to Saturday, which amounted to 168 minutes. (22 october)
    18 app 1 goal

Of course big div is a cult hero but never was he at the top level consistently.

    Mane , 11 goals in 23.
    We are missing him.
His presence , goals, assists .
But unfortunately we chose to renew Salah .
Also another player over 30 argument.
As soon as we didn't win a game. Ah the ageing forward line.
Bobby will be gone soon. Next summer.
    A new dawn.
Fingers crossed for x2 or 3x new midfielders
