Having such a good weekend so far that I am not (too) bothered by the result of this - which is a nice feeling.

    Hope everyone is well.

If we beat Brighton I think it would be a good morale boost but unfortunately I cannot see it happening

    Hahahaha

Whilst that would indeed make for a good weekend, the reality is much more "boring" (to most) than that.

I managed to get a day-trip to one of the Scottish islands I have wanted to see for a long while - Islay. Place is absolutely stuffed with wildlife.
Huge flocks of migratory Barnacle Geese, a Marsh Harrier put on a bit of a show over some wetland (it's a Bird that only recently bred in Ireland for the first time in 102 years so you can imagine I don't see them a lot!) and got to see my first truly wild Eagles - White-Tailed - still want to see the Golden. Managed photographs - and also managed to photograph Chough which have recently become "functionally extinct" (aren't breeding) in Northern Ireland.

No nausea on the boat on either journey, stunning conditions, incredibly beautiful landscapes, brilliant Birds and the air quality from the different habitats (Sea, mountain, wetland) mean I feel like I have had a holiday, despite it being in one day.

Very much welcome as I have been burnt out and the consequences of that have been difficult, so although I still need a "proper" holiday some time (haven't had a 2-week break in 20 years) I feel somewhat refreshed - a very welcome feeling in the January/February spell as they knock so many people for six.

Provided there are no major stressors on the Horizon, what that trip has given me will help to carry me through for a few weeks, by which time there will be more daylight etc.

I definitely need to treat myself to stuff like this more often.
