Was reading a bit about him. Before he joined wolves in the CHAMPIONSHIP he was captaining Porto in the champions league. So to go from that to the championship maybe shows what he is really after.

There has also been suggestion that his agent (menses) is making the decisions for him.

France forward Kylian Mbappe, 24, says he will stay at Paris St-Germain next season and decide his future in 2024 when his contract is due to expire. (Telefoot, via 90min)

Real Madrid say they will announce the signing of Spain striker Joselu, 33, from Espanyol this week and rule out a move for Mbappe this summer. (Sport - in Spanish)

Well yeah, why pay €150m this summer when he’s free next?

In 2-3 years time I wonder if Real Madrid will have managed to get Haaland and Mbappe on their books at the same time.

"Clearlake and PIF have an excellent relationship. And the latter are driving many high-profile moves to Saudi on behalf of Al-Nassr, Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Ahli. #CFC see an opportunity to offload some players to Saudi. And PIF have multiple Chelsea players on their radar.

With all these high-profile deals the club is often selected quite late in the process, but the aim is to populate all four clubs with stars to create Riyadh and Jeddah rivalries with global appeal. Next season there will new TV deals, and an English highlights show is expected.

These transfers are fluid. Player input matters, too, but PIF, and the Saudi Pro League, are driving many of these moves. By the time the club president flies in, it's often for final negotiation or even just handshakes and photos. This was certainly the case with Ronaldo.

A good example of this is also N'Golo Kante and Al-Nassr. They thought they had a chance for ages, and were even the 'frontrunner' at one point. But suddenly it was radio silence and they realised they were powerless to sign him. Now he's joining Al-Ittihad."

Can't wait for Chelsea to start flogging all their deadwood out that way. If you know you can sell players you don't want anymore for a reasonable fee then it takes all the risk/jeopardy out of signings.

Jeopardy/risk is a big part of what keeps sport competitive. It's why what Man City (as an example) do is so unimpressive to me.

    Excellent acquisition on paper.

No doubt they find "someone" to buy somebody like Lukaku and we can listen to the great intellectual minds of Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher talking about how "clever" the business is.

Sid this is one of the major issues with what's happening in football. None of the mainstream media are highlighting any of the things that are happening. They are all happen to toe the line and go along for the ride.

Also, that could be a very good signing by Chelsea. It will interesting to see who else they sign after their recent splurge.
