F/T
Boca 1-2 Flu
As a spectacle it’s been quite entertaining, not like any domestic game you will ever see in Europe.
Three excellent goals, two insane red cards and numerous challenges bordering on assault pretty much ignored by the officials.
The second yellow for the winning goal scorer John Kennedy, was particularly ridiculous, having made himself the hero or Rio with an absolute belter, he ran the full length of the pitch, off the pitch, up the steps and threw himself into the arms of the screaming Fluminense fans.
He then looked genuinely shocked at being given a second yellow.
Mad.
As for Andre … meh. In this showing he wouldn’t be any more affective than Endo.
Not only his poor off the ball movement I mentioned earlier, he lacks the athleticism and physical presence required in the Prem. He jogged and walked his way through the whole 120 minutes, you won’t get away with that under Klopp.
Not for me thanks.
So you can judge him off one game?
Jeeze if we did that with Nunez he'd be the worst striker in the prem in a couple of games!
I know its 2 or so weeks away. But the game at city. we cant go in with an inside right back , tucked into the middle. we'll get slaughtered with Doku down their side. Be interested to see how we approach that game.
Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
Can only do our best and try to enjoy the ride.
If we think of that 30-year spell we won the League once and the Champion's League twice. If we think of it as there being two "Elite" trophies per season then in that 30-year spell we won on 3 occasions and fell short on 57 - but there are still some absolutely fabulous memories in there.
On a positive note about the weekend's results, if both ourselves and Villa win our respective games then the top five open up a little gap on the other 15 teams in the Division. Would be good to be part of a group that shows signs of pulling away from the rest - still early enough in the season but our chances of becoming a Champion's League side again look really good and we may silverware this season too.
