At Christmas time I thought that we might have a 'normal' points total to win the league. 84-88pts sort of range.

But it looks like another 'blink and you're gone' sort of finish again. We could well finish 3rd with 90+ points!

Since last posting we've taken 7/9, Arsenal 10/12 & City 8/12 points. Arsenal up to second only dropping points today v cituae, as we did before the break.

Interestingly, we're now favourites for the league.

Both of our rivals have CL ko rounds to go.
City play Real & Arsenal play Bayern in the quarters with the winners of these ties pairing off in the semi-finals.

Its always sad to be out of CL football, but EL isn't as demanding which might be beneficial. As Insidious said:

    - Atalanta in quarters, nice
    - Benfica or Marseille in semis, nice
    - Home draw for the Final so we wear Red, nice

Honestly, we could hardly have hand-picked that better.
We dumped ourselves out at old Trafford in the FA Cup quarterfinals. Infuriating to see, worse to watch, but we move on.

If we win both of our next 2 league games, my gut says we'll extend our lead.

Likewise, my gut says get past Atalanta in the quarters and it's ours.

Presently due back fit to play..

    Robbo & Jones 04/04/2024
    Jota 07/04/2024
    Alisson & Trent 14/04/2024

Bajcetic, Thiago & Matip continued absences aside, nearly back to full health.

9 games to play in the league in the next 7 weeks.
2 games rising to 5 games in the Sid Cup for the final

A cunt of a week brought on by our old toilet result.
Just had to keep a clean sheet, play deeper and safer and see out the result. Ended up gifting them their first with sloppy play and conceded another within 8 minutes.
Was a real sapper of a day out and the hangover continued through the week.

PL is cities to lose now. Hope to fuck we do it, and if not arsenal.
Can never rationalise wanting those cheats to win a bean. Should be stripped of their titles.

Spurs hold the key at the moment. They come to us (and have been poor recently away from home) whilst they host both City and Arsenal. They'll need the points now that 5th probably won't get a CL spot. Hopefully that battle for 4th is decided one way or the other by the time we go to Villa.....

All the discussion is pointless though anyway unless we start playing a lot better and actually remember how to put away some of our multiple chances....

Perplexed why/how our strikers aren't having some coaching from players like Rush and Fowler.

    You can’t coach that.

I often wonder if we have anything akin to AC Milan's "Mind Room" set-up.

I also think there's a lot to be said for what Michael Owen and Thierry Henry said about having 2 or 3 finishes that you drill and drill until they're basically muscle-memory as opposed to having to improvise a finish.
