Because from the sounds of it, it seems like Mo will miss just about the same number of games he would have missed if Egypt got to the final (which they did the in the last AFCON before losing to Mane's Senegal).

And we did okay that month without the two of them not just going unbeaten but only not winning one game, I believe
I think we are talking (only slightly) cross-purposes here.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're looking at it from the perspective of it not being a much greater loss (in terms of games missed) than if he had played out the Tournament and I do agree - I however simply meant that his absence is a loss in a more generalised sense - which he is of course, otherwise we wouldn't be paying him £350,000 per-week.

Salah back running already judging by his Instagram story. Guy is a machine, I did call it, that he’d be back sooner than expected.....

Szoboszlai will be out for 3-4 weeks and will miss the League Cup Final.

A real shame - besides wanting to win it, I wanted him to be heavily involved on the day if we manage to do so - want as many of the newer/younger lads to be involved in a trophy lift as soon as possible, especially if Jürgen is departing - good experience to have under their belts.

So many injuries to key players again this season, plus Afcon and the Asia Cup, makes it really difficult to win trophies, particularly when Pep’s managing the cheats.

At least we don’t come up against them in Europe or the League cup

that's one opinion. another says the club is just monitoring Szoboszlai injury and it wont be that long as 3/4 weeks. but we'll see

Dominik Szoboszlai’s injury is not as bad as reported in Hungarian media. 🇭🇺

The club will be careful with his recovery but from what I understand he won’t miss 3-4 weeks. #LFC
