Klopp certainly didn’t waste anytime throwing him into combat.

10 months out and travels to the Emirates. Smacks a little of desperation that. Backfired spectacularly. I must say I was shocked. Assumed they KNEW he was fit and ready. Not sure what the medical team are actually doing tbf.

Did similar with Diaz and he hasn’t looked the same player.

Is it bad luck or something else?

I don't think he has shown the same blistering pace since the double knee issue or have we seen quite the same ability to turn on a sixpence. He was electric when he first came. When he first arrived Mane all but lost his place because of it.. Klopp naturally dismissed that claim - any manager in his position would do. - but I think we all know it happened.

Just watch a few of the games from that season. He walked in and looked like a world beater.

Nice video of him here pre knee injury here:

I might be wrong but feels like he hasn't hit these heights since. Hopefully he gets back to this level.

Doubt you remember but when Thiago came to us I did say he’s a quality player but my main concern was him being injury prone. Bloody hell he has really rinsed the club out of a wage. He’s been an absolute piss take. Thiago & Keita are definitely the worst waste of space signings in Klopps time.

Good to see him back. a class act.. I fear with the way FSG behave he will be gone in the summer just like Jurgen.

Our medical staff are pretty much useless, they can't see whats in front of them. ie regarding injuries, they should know what his knee was like.. If he needs an operation in the end, its all down to the medical people.
