    LOL!!!!
    His stock has fallen so far off a cliff since his disastrous spell at Villa (and then getting outshone embarrassingly by Emeri who took over from him), and then arguably an even worse spell at his Saudi club in a watered down Saudi football league, where he's inexplicably signed a contract extension - even as Hendo realized what a mistake it was to go there for a paycheck and decided to forego the rest of his tax-free riches to get back to European football.

    I'd be embarrassed for the club if FSG were seriously considering him to take over from Klopp - much as I loved him as a player and our captain and he'll always hold a place in our hearts.

    But the manager's job?

    They won something like 3 out of 16 League games there - that would worry me a bit.

    Alonso still my no. 1 candidate for the foreseeable. I understand reservations about his lack of experience, but the people he has been coached by and his ability to get directly involved in training due to how well he hits a ball, plus his tactical set-up at Leverkusen all look promising.
