Pep Ljinders interview today suggested they've known since the summer? I'd like to think they didn't panic but they should have the new man in the bag soon.

I can't imagine Bayern being a particularly favourable job over Liverpool.

Yes, you'll likely win the League there - but it's pretty much expected of the Manager and the Champion's League is the ultimate measuring stick of your ability. I guess (short-term) it's "easier" to follow a managerial "failure" and turn it around, thus looking great - but that doesn't necessarily transfer over 3-5 seasons.

At Liverpool we greatly desire League challenges, but are not yet so entitled as to think that anything but first is utter failure - we've won one League in just over 3 decades after all. I can understand the apprehension of following a Manager who is irreplaceable, but I also think that Liverpool fans knowing nobody can "replace" Klopp is a blessing in a sense - we'll be measured and patient enough to understand that someone won't necessarily waltz in and win silverware in their first season - but we certainly have the squad for a Manager to work wonders with despite that same crushing sort of pressure.

Also timing-wise a number of the better sides in England are in some form of transition - it's only really us, Arsenal and Man City that look to be at or near the peak of a "cycle" and one of those sides might (optimistic perhaps) get the book thrown at them yet and/or have their Manager leave as I just don't see Guardiola bouncing around like a Coked up jack-rabbit forever - he's bound to need to recuperate in a coffin with soil from Catalonia at some point.

I agree with your points there but there could be a family point to think about. If his family are settled in Germany would they want the upheaval of moving to the UK? Might be a nothing point also though.
Us as fans will always see LFC as a more attractive option but most other fans wouldn't.
In terms of where each club are at I'd say LFC are definitely a better choice. Bayern still have some good players but are not the force they once were and there's plenty of speculation that Kimmich ( their best player) is off in the summer.

There's negatives about coming here too, Bayern more money to spend, and probably a better wage.

Not following Klopp, instead taking over from a underachiving manager, this is a huge job and a hard one.

Probably more but I can't think right now.

    Michael Beale is available...

Michael Beale sacked as Sunderland manager yesterday after just 12 games.

Sacked twice in one season. Not the sort of record you want is it?

Not sure the family argument stands up, that bird flew the nest the minute you decide to embark on a football managerial career, location location is far less important when compared to “ The next step up in your career “..

How bright would Klopp’s reputation be right now, if he had simply taken the easier option of managing a dominant Bayern Munich side in what has been over the years a “ One horse race “ rather than the uphill task of making Liverpool a force once again in World football, hindsight methinks tells you he has risen to the challenge and exceeded even his own expectations probably…and he couldnt be any more respected than he is now…

Xabi Alonso is now facing the same question… imho his decision will speak volumes about his ambitions as a manager…

I've seen spurious reports here and there that FSG might offer the post to Pep Ljinders - that would be quite a U-turn.

I'll be shocked if it happens, and someone should be sacked if he gets it.

Ljinders appeared to rule himself out but his comments did still seem to leave room for him to take Klopp's job.

However if this is true it would suggest FSG are struggling to recruit!

I can see you points but the Prem has been a one horse race for 6/7 seasons. Likely 7/8 by the end of this one too. Most top leagues are nowadays.
It's not like he's going from a underdog type club to one big offer though. There's allegedly two big clubs chasing him, two of the biggest and while we'd obviously cast favour on LFC there's lots of fans who would put forward a valid case for Bayern.
There's also the following of arguably our greatest manager since Shankly. Whoever takes it knows they're not coming close to that.
