The number of changes are not helping. The midfield in particular is different every single game

I genuinely think in the cup game we just ran out of steam in the last 15 of extre time we’d played far more games than them including a 120 minute Carabao final with hugely depleted numbers & everyone’s just been a bit tired & fatigued

Last night will have given all the lads a massive confidence boost & we’re getting quite a few back now so we can keep the lads a lot fresher & have more experience & quality to bring from our bench - We won a lot of games in the first half of the season because of the quality & experience we had to bring from the bench

This game is more about attitude and confidence than team selection or tactics, we have a far better squad than they do and any combination we choose is imho good enough to get a good result, but unless we have the right attitude right from the off and demonstrate a level of composure, confidence on the ball and especially in front of goal, this game could become very tricky and costly.

We had enough chances at Anfield to win three matches and at OT we created easily enough chances to win that game comfortably, but we just lacked that bit of composure in key moments, two players making mistakes in separate incidents at key moments that ultimately cost us dear…

We just need to forget the 5-0 and 7-0 results, and get the job done as quickly and as efficiently as possible..

If we can do all of this I would forecast a 3-1 victory, if not, it will not be a comfortable watch and it certainly won’t be good for my health

All things considered, having watched that last 15-20 minutes several times over with the only tough calls on Mo & Gakpo & Szobo & Elliott, that 3 of Nunez Diaz (in Combe with Robbo) & Gakpo all rotated through all front 3 positions & all contributing really well in all of them

    Kelleher

    Bradley Konate Van Dijk Robertson

    Szoboslai Mac Allister Jones

    Salah Nunez Diaz

Mo with a point to prove not been his best with his finishing, final ball & decision making in either of late & we played better in that last 15 when we weren’t continually looking for him perhaps he’ll look at the MAC Allister goal & moment & remember himself & muster a few more of the moments he so regularly used to with his wonder moment goals & assists

That’s a fucking team, Szobo I think can maybe flourish in that & Elliott is the far superior impact player of the two should we need that & doesn’t always perform the best when starting

Robbo remembered what his moments were like alright, it’s barely been mentioned but his ball fir Gakpo’s goal was just brilliant too, one of Robbo’s very best among a great many brilliant assists with many more to come Niw someone just needs to teach the bigger to play the percentages when shooting

Yeah it was a massive shot in the arm - relief as well.

If we can muster up a win today in arguably our hardest fixture (Spurs maybe the best remaining side we face, but it's at Anfield which helps) to leave ourselves with 7 League fixtures left and knowing the next one in the League (Crystal Palace) is at Anfield to bring the counter down 6 to go, it will be another huge lift. Especially given that players are coming back into the side.

It would be very naive of us to say "beat Man United and we win the League" - very naive - but it would also be fair to say that it would give us a massive, massive lift.

We all know what Arsenal and City are hoping for today, because we have all been in the very same situation, and similarly we all know how deflating it is when the shock result you are hoping for, just doesn't happen.

Today is all about winning, but it’s equally important that we ensure that both Arsenal and City are really disappointed. They will both have the Utd game down as one of the biggest potential banana skins in our last run of games, if we can navigate this one successfully, as much as it puts wind into our sails, it also takes a little bit of wind out of theirs….

So come on lads, lets fucking do this…

    CK
    Bradley
    Konate
    Van Dijk
    Gomez
    Endo
    Macca
    Szoboslai
    Diaz
    Salah
    Nunez

We know their game plan is going to hang Rashford high wide left that is their out ball. To negate it first 10 minutes until we pin them back and we start having dominance in terms of Bradley going forward. I would start Salah as the 9 his workrate defensively and or our reliance on attacking on our right hand side as well as our new inverted fullback thing is what United or teams are targeting. I would start Diaz as rwfd as he is a bull terrier defensively. Nunez lwfd. Even set up as a 442 with Szoboslai as the right winger and Diaz left winger Salah in the hole behind Nunez.

It is concerning how early teams get a chance against us and how in the 1st minute we are pimped deep in our own half and don't know how to just sap out the pressure through "game play" or a attacker just running it and drawing a foul etc. It is alarming we are shaky at the start of games.

So it's the Endo/Szoboszlai/Mac Allister midfield.

Big games for Bradley and Quansah - I imagine that Pickford style tackle is why Konate is missing.
