Lost points from a winning position again, my guess Arteta prioritises a defender 😉

Yeah long way to go, I feel the gap will be a lot closer at christmas, but we'll still be on top, if we do have the gap still then it's a different story going into the new year with 9pts or more ahead of them, good luck to them.

I dunno - are you watching many of their games? They often dominate an opponent creating multiple chances - usually failing to take the strike or when they do failing to finish them. Often scoring from set piece plays.

I would say - it’s a striker that they need.

Very long way to go. But I'd rather be 5 and 9 pts ahead. No matter how good Arsenal are they don't have the proven record that they can claw back this type f deficit. The league has just basically begun so it means that at minimum you still have to play most sides twice. Some team will improve on form some will drop so you can't predict and say you win all your games going forward (City is the exception and that is why a big lead over them seems catchable/dpable for them). So Arsenal still have to come to Anfield, host City, host Chelsea (and there are Villa, Spurs, United) the obvious games I would never say are bankers. So they have to claw back 9 pts with all of thsoe fixtures still to play. Arsenal's title challenge is on thin ice. It is always City who is the worry. Arsenal can go on a run but they just don't have the muscle memory that they can do it, I think there is self-doubt and what if (our best chance has gone) in that dressing room right now,

We have 2 tricky/tough away games (Newcastle and Everton) start of December if we win both as part of a 4 game winning sequence then we are in serious business.. Then it has become our title to lose. If we win our next 4 games. We would be 8pts (minimum as I do think Spurs are going to get a result at the Empty).

The thing I always look at is the swing of games it would take for a side to catch us and pair that with the ever-depleting number of matches that a side has to regain control.

Man City a 2-game swing behind us with 27 left to play is, needless to say, not a very big gap.

If I thought we could get it to a 4-game swing and (by that time) maybe 19 games left, it would look really, really exciting.

A 5-point gap can oh-so-quickly be a 2-point gap so I am taking nothing for granted, but if we keep up this win rate we will be seriously well poised.

It ain’t easy handling the pressure with a lead at the top of the table this early in the season. The Christmas meat grinder can flip things on their head and have season defining effects.

We have a thinner squad than our rivals.

We need to bring in a serious Top Level mid. Not another facilitator but a top class midfielder who can dictate the tempo.

A KDB - or a younger fitter Thiago. The kind of player we should have bought years ago but never found the dosh for. In this Slot template that player would be even more valuable.

Imagine Diaz being fed by that player - Salah legs would get more rest - Darwin too might finally gain some composure.

It would work wonders for the entire team. Less running for Virgil & Konate…

    It needs to happen

Think I've just wet my pants thinking about a fully fit Thiago in this set up...

Exactly. I'm more concerned with City, having won 6 of the last 7. And the last 4 in a row.

Finish above them and we'll win the league.
