Every time we get some momentum going we get stopped in our tracks and all those in a rut get to reset.
This is not what the Premier League is supposed to be about. The old saying of it’s a marathon not a sprint no longer holds because that is what it has become, a series of sprints.

If ESL were supported over this wank new CL, then international football's calendar would have been thoroughly reformed. Even with less breaks in the season, they could play as many internationals.

Yep - let’s have cheerleaders too, food served in your seats… do away with the half time - get the game shortened and sectioned up into quarters.

Europe's top teams, 20 of them.
In 2 groups of 10. Playing each team home & away. 18 groupstage games....
The top 4 in each league making the 2 legged quarters. 2 legged semis & a final.
A competitive Europa & the conference for minor league champions etc.

ESL would have forced a serious rethinking of international football.

Instead it's a 36 man CL, playing 8 of your groupstage rivals.
    Teams finishing 9th to 24th, yes TWENTY-FOURTH,
Play a round of 16 prelim knockout stage.

Same garbage international setup and numerous international interruptions.

I'm surprised they didn't go for a 32 team knockout stages round, from a 36 team league

What a finish from Curtis Jones on debut to put England 3-0 up in Greece.

All the talent in the world just needs to do it consistently
