Naah that’s more bollox. And maybe they went to shyte because they were rinsed doing more than their fair share to keep costs down 😜

And he was mentioned as a player that wasn’t offered what he was worthy of. A parallel with Mo. You tried to belittle his motives and accuse him of greed at the same time.

Gini had a great career at LFC, was paid tidily and got paid more playing for his boyhood barca in Paris. He wanted more than was offered and settled for 300kpw in Paris.

Bobby, Hendo, Fabinho & Mane could still be playing CL football. They took grand pay packets to move out to Saudi pro-league & no CL football.

This idea they had gone to shyte is an interesting one, I hadn't said that myself, though it was intimated by justme earlier in poor Gini's case.
Are you suggesting the club got it right by letting players legs run out on another clubs ?
Do you see it as morally wrong that they had to move to Saudi/PsG/Bayern for a decent quality of life after being forced to run out-of the shithole that is LFC under fsg ?
Spit it out man, don't be constipated by fear of failure

The only aspect of Gini I belittle was his bemoaning the lack of love from lfc fans. If he got the best deal for himself, good for him.

Gini Wijnaldum has spoken out over his Liverpool exit and revealed he 'didn't feel love' from a section of the fan-base during his final two seasons.

Wijnaldum - who signed for Paris Saint-Germain after leaving on a free transfer - admitted he suffered from abuse on social media but rejected the idea he left Merseyside for more money.

The Dutchman joined Liverpool in 2016 from Newcastle United and made more than 200 appearances while lifting the Premier League and Champions League titles.

Wijnaldum told The Times : “Every day in training and in the game I gave everything.

“Liverpool meant so much to me. There was some moment when I didn’t feel love and appreciated there.

“Not by my teammates, not the people at Melwood. I know they all loved me and I loved them. It was not from that side, more from the other side.

“There was a moment when I didn’t feel loved. In the last two seasons, I had it a few times.

"The media didn’t help. There was a story like I didn’t accept the [Liverpool] offer because I wanted more money, and the fans made it like ‘OK, he didn’t get the offer so he doesn’t try his best to win games.’ Everything looked like it was against me.

"Some moments it was like, ‘Wow, me again?’"

He added: “The fans in the stadium and the fans in social media were two different things,” he continues. “In the stadium, I can say nothing bad about them. They always supported me.

“On social media if we lost I was the one who got the blame — [claiming] that I wanted to leave. There was a moment when I was like, ‘Wow, if they only knew what I was doing to stay fit and play every game.’

"You cannot complain because that is your job. But other players might have said, ‘I’m not fit.’ You get players in their last year who are like, ‘I’m not playing because it’s a risk.’ I did the opposite.

"I didn’t always play good but after the game I could look in the mirror and say, ‘I trained hard to get better.’

"My team-mates never had the feeling that I let them down or was taking the p***. For the manager, I was someone he was really sure he could trust. It also helped because I could play in different positions and do it well in different positions. I’d give everything.

“I got so much love not only from the fans but the manager and the players, the people who worked at the club. Players came to me saying, ‘This is your last training session, this is your last week at the club.’ It was really difficult and also emotional.

"A lot of time I had to fight against my tears. The love everyone showed [during and after that final game, against Crystal Palace] was beautiful.”
Not about the 300kpw, not about the money. He left LFC for his boyhood club Barcelona and ended up in PSG. To escape his own mobile phone, social media & an at times unloving fanbase.
I certainly think that is worthy of ridicule.

at the time Barca were in a financial mess and probably couldn't offer him anymore than we were offering.. PSG came in and offered him a huge whack. who'd not turn that down? I've mentioned Gini a lot. because in hindsight it was a mistake to let him go..I think thats obvious to see for most people. sure hes gone off a cliff since..but no one was to know that was going to happen. we'd be mental to left Salah leave. he wins us GAMES.. whos to say the next in line will?

Get yourself to a game for the love of god man - actually see the players in the flesh & mingle with the people who represent the club you profess to “support.”

The only genuine support I see from you is the type geared towards the billionaires from Boston.

We need to sign up Mo Salah - it’s beyond a joke - and your attempts at painting the players as the bad guys - is beyond ridiculous. Henry could hardly pay for a grander cheerleader.

    Go to a game.
    Boston.
    Salah.
    Knuckles.

You really do have a duck & cover style of argument

Do you think I'm painting them as bad guys for taking big money pay cheques ?

Merely pointing out there were other options than Saudi pro league, and I mock Gini's claim it wasn't about the money.

It will happen one day sadly. He's just a special player. There was all this drama last time with Mo & Mane. Mo signed on, Mané left.

All the 1 year extension talk might suggest he wants to keep his options open, a bit like mbops last small extension on massive money at PSG. That way he gets the bigger signing on bonus over the club getting a fee.

Real or PSG would make Mo more money and offer CL football. Saudi/USA for retirement when hes fallen off at the elite level.

Had Gini signed on for less money with us, maybe things would have worked out better for him too.

It’s not duck and cover at all. Just totally miffed at your attempts to paint players as the villains. It’s simply at odds with my understanding and the reality.

Gini’s situation specifically became a to and fro of comments - that tit Carra got involved and social media too. Gini felt like a scapegoat - he was overly sensitive - but that is who he is. Deserved better from the club imo.

    BUT regardless…

    Thiago 29 - Hendo - 30 - Gini 30 - Milner 34 Plus a totally rinsed Fabinho -

Held onto sick notes Oxlade and Keita and refused to replace Gini OR pay him a salary close to what he was worth (relatively speaking)

Went out the summer before last in a belated panic and got a new midfield - & the results became clear.

The lack of backing at crucial times has cost us.

So in an attempt to avoid a similar bat-shit-crazy scenario… and lose the irreplaceable Mo Salah… I say

    Sign him up!

Nice soundbites that will work on the daft. How many of those players you mention improved after they left LFC? None. We sold at the right time, which is what the club is supposed to do.

If we think Salah is worth what he's asking for we'll "sign him up". If not, we'll let him go. The club will thrive and succeed with or without Mo Salah.
VOTE JOCKY tae fix this fiasco.
