Thread: The Three Amigos

Given the wages that both Virg and Salah are currently on, one would expect them to at least want similar deals for their last big contract at LFC, and I would also assume that they both want 3yrs, so given the big numbers involved which is probably in the region of £50M for Salah and £35M for Virg over 3 years… and then we come to Trent, who I imagine is looking to be the best paid player at the Club given his age and further growth and will want a minimum 5 yr contract, so that could well add another £100M contract to be considered….

So we are talking about contracts here potentially amounting to £185M… is there any wonder that all parties sides are trying to get the best deal possible, including LFC…

I think the best time to discuss this is in January when we will all know who is actually staying and who is going… before then, I can see lots of twists and turns in the negotiations before we actually reach the final outcome…

As with anything, there's always two sides of a story. For all we know Mo could be asking for 5 year contract on moon money and not budging. Or (as is more likely) FSG are, as has been suggested keeping their wallets firmly shut in a hope he (and VVD) move on.

Whatever happens, both need or will need replacing imediately or in the very near future. And that is going to be impossible whenever they leave.

Salahs on £450,000 a week. That's much closer to £75 mill over 3 years.

Club says they are negotiating with Mos agent.

Mo says no offer on the table.

Guess people will believe who they want to believe.

Negotiating doesn’t mean there is an offer on the table, so both takes are correct

Club is batshyte bonkers if there is no offer on the table. I mean - box of frogs bonkers.

Really, hey ho I thought he was on £350,00 wk…

I am sure they are negotiating with all three, it’s just part of the dance prior to any firm offer…

However, if both parties are miles apart, tbh a firm offer is very unlikely 🫣

I agree, but maybe we will get lucky with signing players that end up making us better from the money we bring in. Like with the coutinho deal.

Yes - his basic rate is £350k per week.

However, he also receives bonuses which are likely based on availability, goals and appearances.

The details of these bonuses are not, to my knowledge, available to the public - but it is thought that Mo gets £400k-£450k per week from the club most weeks.

With his last contract negotiation the club wanted more of it to be paid in bonuses, whereas Mo's agent wanted a bigger flat rate.

The club agreed to terms closer to what Mo and his agent wanted and this was apparently documented in a book published on Mo.

£350,000 per week is his basic salary
