    Match Thread: Newcastle v Liverpool

    Liverpool XI v Newcastle

    Kelleher
    Quansah, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson;
    Jones Gravenberch, Mac Allister;
    Salah Nunez Gakpo;

    Subs: Jaros, Endo, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Elliott, Nallo, Alexander-Arnold, Morton, Nyoni

    Not sure whether Quansah and Gomez will line up like that or not.

    Big gamble either way.

    Would be brilliant if Quansah could essentially "learn" the right-back position bit-by-bit. The versatility of Gomez is dead handy, so it would be good to have it in another player. Who knows - Quansah may even one day get a few minutes at left-back as well.

    A lot to be said for Milner-types who can cover a few spots. But heck - he could end up being the centre-back tonight so will read little into it.

    Hope Elliott can get some minutes and that we have the luxury of doing so when 2-0 up or something.

    You'd suspect Szoboszlai and Diaz will start against Everton.

    Hope Newcastle regret their decision starting Isak. Them having to make early sub would be nice.

    I just listened to Slott's pitch side interview with Dan Walker, God, and Shay Given. Slott comes across well in his interviews. He approaches them with a straight bat, honesty and zero bs.

    A couple of lax moments from MacAllister and Gravenberch.
