Everton will still be giddy and hungover from tonight, after the lord mayor's show and all that.

    I hope.

But being fair tonight was a poor showing. Salah and the subs who came on put their all on the line - they were totally brilliant and did more than you could ask. Kelleher should fo far better for their second goal and the 3rd is really bad judgement and it cost us hugely after all that work.

agree though blaming him for last season is bang wrong and suggesting he isn’t good enough - miles wide of the mark
Agree Kelleher has been really good. Tonight second goal he should have done better. The third is unforgivable for a professional keeper to leave a cross not knowing what’s happening behind him.

Amazon trying to create a narrative now by showing Arne speaking to the ref at half time. After mentioning the ref said to both managers before the game they could speak to him at any time. Then Shay Given sees the footage and says 'I don't know if the Newcastle assistant boss has jumped into speak with him after seeing Slot do it"
Except the footage shows Arne and the Newc asst boss both talking to him throughout.

Arsenal's fixtures between now and the start of January look more favourable on paper than ours do.

If you get 11 wins, 2 draws and a loss from your opening 14 games and find yourself 7 points clear just over a third of the way through the season, you don't point at a draw with 24 matches to go as the moment that cost you - especially in a match where (in terms of performance) you arguably could say merited 0 points.

Having a poor first half is crap, being ahead at the end and dropping points from a winning position is crap and an abysmal refereeing performance is crap - so I will (begrudgingly!!!) take the point I think by the end of the week, especially if we beat Everton.

Results like beating Man City buys us a little wiggle-room and we "spent" that tonight - it happens. If we get back on the proverbial horse quickly we will be grand - and we still get to play Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal again this season to further influence our destiny.
Chelsea and City away Sid - Arsenal more than capable of beating us at Anfield. It’s very very early in the season to be thinking like so many are. Great start from Slot - maybe too good but you can’t get carried away after 1/3 of a season.m. Unless we are serious and reinforce this January - we will struggle to even be in a title race nevermind win one. Midfield looked tired tonight - it’s early December. Darwin is a so rough - Robbo miles off it - Konate missing which leaves an older Virgil more exposed.

    Slots work starts now

MUCH more favourable. They have played most of the games you can see them dropping points.

There were a lot of if's mentioned in the above. If we immediately get back on the horse, and if we beat the BS, and if we don't drop stupid points to or lose against our rivals, then maybe tonight's error, performance and result will be a distant memory.

However as we all know (one person in particular) one game, one error, one mistake, one accident etc can be the difference between winning and losing, and even if we don't see it that way, others certainly will.

Slot had a look on his face when Darwin sliced that open goal at the end..... I think he's made his decision on him

No ones mentioned since the game ended that Salah picked up a knock near the end. Let’s hope it’s nothing or we’re in trouble.
