A note on last nights game, Lineker and the BBC prat squad reckoned Salibas flying headbutt wasn't a penalty and was a disgraceful decision.
Are they for fucking real?

I see a few threads are shut and the pattern seems to be it's the larger ones, what Gary used to call "super threads" - so sticking one up for January and then we can maybe make a new one for February etc
A shame that Ipswich, who were 2-1 up against Fulham, conceded late for 2-2. They could have been a mere 4 points off the Mancs which would have been a good chuckle.

He knocked the Brighton player to the ground. Unbelievable is that Saliba wasn't even carded...

Superthreads
I'm afraid this subject has reared its head again as our hosting provider is requiring us to optmisise the database.
From now on all threads over 6 months old will be closed to ensure the smooth running of the forum and we will have to prune anything older than 1 year.
Please avoid multi-subject superthreads.
Thanks
On Talksport, Martin Keown was having a real hissy fit about the validity of the Saliba penalty, claiming it was soft decision, he headed the ball first and then claimed that the Brighton player made the most of the contact….
Whilst I agree it was probably a soft penalty, and yes whilst Saliba did make a contact with the ball, what Keown failed to acknowledge was that Saliba’s momentum did end up with him making contact with the Brighton striker, and on that basis that sort of contact to the head was always going to be at risk of giving away a penalty…
What does make me laugh is how hypocritical Keown is with regards how soft he felt the penalty award was, for fucks sake how many soft free kicks do Arsenal deliberately win around the box with some very dubious play by Arsenal players and some very naďve Refereeing..without any comments by Keown about whether the awarded free kicks are soft or not.
No surprise either that Arsenal do that tbh, given how good Arsenal are at corners and free kicks… coupled with the fact that these free kicks never receive the same level of scrutiny as penalties always do…
I would especially like to see what comments Keown and Arteta made about the blatant Odegard handball in the penalty area against LFC last year …. because that one was more of a fucking disgrace than the Saliba penalty.
Forest move level with Arsenal. They are our next league opponents and are flying it.
Could they do a Leicester?
If they're still close after Gameweek 26-28 or so then why not? The last 10-12 are usually when the cracks show.
A draw against them might actually prove to be a very good result given that Arsenal have Tottenham and Villa soon, but a win (9 points clear, game in hand) would be a BIG dent in their challenge.
