    Ahoy Kev.

I hike and wild camp a lot. Often my hikes will be with a view to getting to a set vantage point for views (for photography or to keep an eye on rare birds of prey possibly declaring territory in an areas) and thus I would say I have a reasonable amount of experience.

What's your main worry - stamina, equipment, water intake, what?

I'll offer what insights I can. Certain things I have "my" way of doing things which may not be "by the book" but happy to answer any questions as best I can.

Thinking of doing a bit myself this year. I went to Mourne Park at the foot of the mourne mountains at the weekend and it was very nice. Tullymore forest is also a favourite of mine with a few different walks of various distances. So hoping to do one of the mountains not huge but a good couple of hours walk. Having a dog helps get you out.

Ben Crom and Doan should be the first ones you tackle to pace yourself if you are getting into peaks.

Main thing is keep the dog on lead as there are Red Grouse, Merlin and Hen Harrier in the area.

I debated a camp tonight but I have been out filming a lot this week so it didn't happen - need to pace oneself.
