Liverpool have submitted an offer worth Ł105m for Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz; the Germany playmaker has emerged as a primary target for Arne Slot, but the Premier League champions face competition from Bayern Munich and Man City

    It's official

Would be great to get him, and gives us some options- does that mean we're not signing a forward?

Maybe CB/LB priority next? then summer over? after frimpong

I feel we might not sign a CB even if we need too..... at least sort konates contract

Really could do with him to be fair, a young X-FACTOR player, not just having to hope a aging salah is on the ball.

Do we think this would be the most high-profile signing since Torres?

    Aye I'd say Virgil too
It'll be a real coup and show of intent if this gets over the line. He could be a big difference in getting through packed organised defences.

Must just be me, but I was concerned about big Virg, especially for the money that we were offering at the time. And he was coming from a lower league club.

Torres was a bonafied Wonderkid. Wirtz has those kind of vibes...

To be fair he's never scored more than 16 goals so I was concerned about him.
Never had a doubt about Virgil. I was gutted we missed out on him during the whole tapping up carry on..

Well he’s a player who would interest Man City and Real so maybe but time will tell.

The hype around VVD signing was crazy. 100s of pages on here.

Not seen him play much, but Wirtz has a lot of hype around him too. Good stats.

Interestingly, like Virgil, city didn't want to pay up for Wirtz, so big spending LFC strikes again

Here's hoping it's another VVD level acquisition

Vinny jr, Yamal, Bellingham, Haaland, Mbappe & Saka are the 6 players with bigger market values than Wirtz.
