Thread: Robbo Leaving?

    Robbo Leaving?

I for one will miss Robbo if he goes. Yes, he is reaching the end of his playing time but his passion and humour will be missed within the team.

Also, I don't think Liverpool have ever won the league without a Scottish player in the team. Do we have any other Scottish players?

Agreed. He became a key component at the center of the beating heart of Klopp’s monsters…. As much a leader on the pitch as anyone. Led by example - the work rate and passion ridiculous. God love him.

Robbo certainly wasn't on my list of players to shove out the door this summer.

Losing Robbo this summer will imho will be an odd decision, as I think he certainly has at least one more season in him at this level,

Saying that, I am sure the club have probably told him that he is going to be used more often as a back up next season, rather than our goto Left Back, and maybe he is just reluctant to accept a being a number 2, hence why he is possibly considering another challenge….

However, Lets not forget, Liverpool back in their pomp were brutal, If there was a better player available in your position, 9 times out of 10 they were signed… it was nothing personal, it was just strictly business.

Robbo actually got into the first team on that very same basis… thats the life of a footy player…cruel but true.

I’ll be gutted if he goes.

Been a great servant and he also seems to be a great lad, always up for a laugh, honoured to be playing for the club and seems just normal.

Not up his own arse like the other full back that has just left

Sentimentally, I would love to have him stay longer. What a character and what a player.

There is also a part of me that wishes we could be as ruthless/clinical/efficient as the Mancs/Fergie were in the 90s and 00s to ensure we don't get a drop-off.

Perhaps players (in general) leaving that one season early is the best way to maintain standards, whilst also ensuring we don't see anyone's level drop off and impact how fondly we remember their playing contribution.

Will be so sad to see him go. He's been a bloody brilliant servant to the club.

his experience is pretty vital, but maybe he wants to be #1 starter for sure, and knows kerkez is coming, and a new challenge perhaps..

rather have him to cover than Tski, but...

times'are changin end of a era

VVD,Salah,Allison,Konate, Diaz next.... not sure what order but the old guard is coming to a end, diaz isn't old but I don't think he'll be here that much longer same with konate..... especially if we're having a drama over his contract. next few years =(

but I don't see much talk of a CB coming... not yet anyway, maybe we just keep with VVD konate gomez and quansah not ideal but yeah... then again quansah could very well be off

I know he wasn't at the top of his game last season, and he's obviously more likely to decline than improve but I still think he has a lot to offer, so I am surprised by the news.

i just hope that the turnaround in squad doesn't take too long to gel.

Back to Robbo - My favourite player of the side that Klopp bulit. He epitomised so many of the qualities that Klopp was looking for in his players. And I think his ability was often, maybe slightly dismissed at time. He was/is more than just a 'runner'.

He's also a great example of having a bit trust in the scouts and how the club is ran in general. A swap deal for Kevin Stewart is a transfer masterclass.

I genuinely hope he takes la Liga by storm next season.

Agree with this. It was obvious his decline was there but as a back up he'd probably be the best in the league.
I wonder if he feels genuinely sad that there wasnt such outpouring for him to a get a new deal. He alluded to ot in an interview recently.
A club legend without any shadow of a doubt, if he does leave it's really sad he won't have had a send off.
