Wait....
Didn't he get nearly half a billion in spending this last year to spend in the transfer window - resulting in two of the most expensive players ever paid for in Premier League history -......and yet resulting in one of our worst seasons in the categories of most goals conceded in all competition (75), longest losing streak in our history (12 games) and winning no away games against the top 6 teams, as well as having both Manc clubs do the double over us?
How much more backing does the guy need?
He won the league with Klopp's team and minor tweaks and changes to his style and formation.
When he had his own team and instituted his own style, it's still (mathematically,....though...admittedly unlikely) possible going into the last game that we could miss out on the Champions League.
What the hell are you even talking about?
Also, he had no practically no say (and therefore gets no credit) in the net-spend of that first transfer window, seeing as he had just arrived at the club, and the single player we bought in that window (Chiesa) is a player he clearly doesn't fancy and never wanted given how little playing time he gives him, and therefore we can reasonably conclude wasn't involved in the decision to get him - any more than he was in the decisions to let go/sell the players we did that generated the revenue that helped that net-spend figure.
There's never been better proof of someone needing to get fired than what he's served up this season.
