There's still a long way to go. I don't think it's a shoe in for Villa to finish in the top 4. Realistically any side outside of City and Arsenal can have massive swings in form over the second half of the season.

I'm really not sure. I think 4th or 5th guarantees his place next season. What if we were to finish 6th but our performances have improved? Also depends on which managers are available next summer. It's a World Cup year so none of those will be moving until after it's over. Lots of variables.

I think Slot is a good manager. His tactical subs were great last season. I like the players we bought in the summer. So fingers crossed we get a CL spot and keep a bit of consistency going at the club. But performances will need to improve at some point and once we have everyone fit I believe they will.

I'm just thinking about the FFP bollocks as we spent a lot in the summer, might be a bit tight if we miss out? can't see us getting a CB/no6/attacker I think we do need them.... without it, and then obviously might be a bit harder to get targets we want without europe

but i'm not pretending to know what i'm talking about, I just worry.... think it'll set us back a few bob though that's for sure and effect us, but maybe we'll be fine!

it's all guesswork at the moment and next summer- and who knows we might bring someone in this window, but we don't have a clue about future of Salah and konate yet, one things for sure I don't want to go into next season with even less depth.

Slot fits in well with what FSG are expecting of him. I can’t see them getting rid unless results really nose dive.

Putting this here too because I think it's relevant:

We haven't been brilliant but we're unbeaten in 9. That's a good place to be. Slot himself has said that we're not creating enough opportunities with the possession we have. He wants more too. But we're a team that is low on confidence and plagued with injuries. We're not going to go from 0 to 100 in a few games. If you're pissed because we're not winning the league this season again then you're just going to be continually disappointed every game.

It's time to reset expectations. It will be a work in progress for the rest of the season. We can hope for better performances, a top 4 finish and maybe a good cup run along the way. Slot has unnecessarily changed a winning formula and sold Edwards and Hughes on his pipe dream to the extent they went out and spent 430m on players for a system we hadn’t played

The system he seeks to employ WILL NOT work, it is the same of the model Guardiola employed for years, which he became unable to continue employing after the 2019-2020 season as a result of too many sides becoming very accomplished in low blocks, pressing and counter pressing and setting traps and plans to win it transition and successfully counter which is unsurprisingly what teams have been doing to us

All the fans have seen what these players can achieve played in a 433 in the style they played for 10 years and know this change was needless and ill thought out They've also seen Isak perform in a 433 for Newcastle.

We have missed out on significantly strengthening an already winning side and squad and actually weakened it by selling Diaz our only true winger/forward and Nunez

Slots plan to instill a designated playmaker is also an absolute nonsense the team as a collective has to be the star and although it will never be successful it is preventing other hugely talented players from making things happen as they are setting up to try and facilitate Wirtz running the show, its not the 1990’s anymore you just can’t do it

Slot should go as soon as a suitable candidate is available so we can start getting the quality players we have back in to good routines and automation and winning with style and conviction ready to start next season well
