Some of their loanees never got much game time with Chelsea and went on to better things. Salah, Lukaku, De Bruyne.
I think they let them go for next to nothing.
Since then they now have quite big transfer values.
Should that show as a loss to Roman when he views his transfer policy profitability?
Still probably small change.
I don't think you can view it that way. They made a profit on all three of them iirc. Some will go on to better things, but many won't. If you make a profit on the player, it was probably worth it - some are bound to become excellent.
Etiam si omnes, ego non
If they have 30 players on loan I'm sure they probably charge the club at least £500,000 a season loan fee plus the wages. That's £15 million a season profit.
I was trying to look at it from Roman's point of view as against a fan's point of view.
I think it is small change to Roman but from a fan viewpoint they may ask how did that happen when now we are buying such expensive players to compensate.
The only player I can think of from LFC point of view is Conor Coady.
Romans view is all that matters- anyone seriously think Chelsea fans give a shite?
Too busy singing - ‘We hate Tottenham... Chelsea’ to even notice.. that and their nursery rhyme
It might come as a big surprise but most football fans don’t really think about this stuff - certainly not at the so called big clubs
