I think they all got hurt by all the "LiVARpool" chants by opposition fans last season, that this season they decided to weaponize VAR (and piss poor officiating) against us.
It's the only way I can find to explain that absolute shambles of an officiating performance by all involved in today's game.
The Shite should have finished that game with 9 players on the pitch and we should have been able to comfortably put it away, but playing against 15 people ( + the 3 onfield officials and the VAR official) was never going to be easy.
