Former England, Liverpool and Tottenham goalkeeper Ray Clemence has passed away aged 72 on Sunday.
In a statement, the Clemence family said he "passed away peacefully today, surrounded by his loving family".
So sad, I heard he had been unwell, but hoping he would recover

I bet you can squeal like a pig!
Remember young Ray taking over from Tommy Lawrence. Arguably our best ever keeper, would have had over 100 caps if it hadn’t been for sharing England duties with Peter Shilton.
RIP Ray.
Yes, one of the world's best. Maybe our best ever. Seems not that old. Did he have an illness?
Advanced Prostate cancer was discovered in 2005, so he did well to survive another 15 years.
Sad news, He was our keeper in my first ever Liverpool match . RIP to a footballing legend.
What a disaster of a year indeed.
RIP Clem.. A true legend and one of the very best..

Fantastic keeper, first one for me when I started going to games, was unlucky to have to have shared the caps with Shilton at the time. One of our greatest ever keepers.
RIP Ray, sad day.
If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing.
I thought that too. 15 years is a long time after a cancer diagnosis. I wonder if he got the all clear in that time and it returned? He was poorly recently but seemed to be recovering as he publicly thanked people for their best wishes and support.
RIP to a true legend and gentlemen.
